What is Pickleball?
Pickleball is a racket sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It has been the fastest growing sport in the US for several years now, and is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes, similar to a Wiffle ball. The game can be played in both singles and doubles formats, with players using the paddles to hit the ball over a net.
Pickleball is typically played on a court similar in size to a doubles badminton court. The rules of the game are fairly simple, and the objective is to hit the ball over the net and land it within the opposing team's court, aiming to score points by making the ball unreturnable for the opponents.
The game was invented in the mid-1960s by three friends, Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum, in the United States. It started as a backyard game for their families but quickly gained popularity. Today, pickleball is enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels, and it is played both recreationally and competitively in various countries around the world.
